The Ultimate SHIFT: Traditional employment, a thing of the past!

As an international business consultant, I continue to provide information to C-Level Executives, Foreign Governments, and entrepreneurs about business trends and how to position their companies for global growth and sustainability. In the grand scheme of all of these boardroom meetings, late night telephone calls and a slew of confidential emails and memos, I am confident that employees and job seekers are not aware of the newest trend (60 years old) that has resurfaced and evolved to a greater exponential power. Well, let me take a moment to clue you in; employment is quickly becoming a thing of the past for employers. It just simply cost too much money (health care benefits, liability insurance, employee relations, taxes, etc.) so, the concept is being extinguished in triple time. Could this be the reason why 12.5 million individuals are still seeking a “job” or “employment”? It’s not as political as many think, it’s more capitalistic in nature. Contrary to recent advertisements, “America does not run on Dunkin coffee, it runs on cash” and that’s the real reason that jobs are no longer being created. Wake up job seekers, we are a capitalistic society and cash is king, so why are you still waiting for a recruiter to ring your phone, after six (6) months, one (1) year? Employers have gotten a bit smarter and wiser, as they are realizing a new system of getting the creme de la creme from the pool of seekers. They select those who are willing to gamble on themselves! Those individuals who will enter agreements of “pay for performance”. Hello job seekers, welcome to the wide world of opportunities and marketing and distribution platforms! A very good friend and business associate, Dr. Kozhi Sidney Makai, (one of the greatest psycho-analytical thinker of the 21st century and beyond) and I engage almost daily about world issues, the economy, and leadership! Of these topics, we spend an exhaustive amount of time speaking indepth about leadership, or the lack there of! The conclusion, it is a paradigm that is a bit lackluster because very few implement it in their daily regimens. What about you? Are you willing to lead the charge for financial independence by associating with an opportunity and embracing marketing and distribution platforms, or will you still be waiting for the recruiter, who will probably never call? How you choose to exercise and include leadership into your decisions and life plans are essential to your placement in the world of new opportunities. Let’s face it, employment is rapidly becoming an antiquated system that is being retired by those who control the world! You must seize the opportunity of a lifetime, in the lifetime of the opportunity! Marketing and distribution platforms are the next wave and your leadership skill are required!

Tunisia……..A Mediterranean Goldmine!

Tunisia’s geographical location is not far from Europe. Its proximity is at the junction of the eastern and western basins of the Mediterranean which makes it a platform for investment, production, and trade. It is an excellent example of a Mediterranean country that is also part of the Arab and African worlds due to its political stability and the dynamism of its society. The main cities are Sfax, Sousse, Bizerte, Nabeul, Gabès, Kairouan, Jendouba, Béja, and Tunis which is the capital. The official language is Arabic, although French, English, and Italian are common languages as well. The population is roughly 10 million and growing. Opportunities for foreign investments are available in the fields of Information Communication Technology, Electric & Electronics, Mechanical, Textiles, Food, Leather and Shoes.  By its central Mediterranean position, its competitive growth and its preferential treaties with numerous countries, Tunisia offers access to a number of  markets for companies that desire to develop their activities. Foreign Direct Investments (FDI) receive FULL tax exemptions on export-derived profits for the first ten years of operations and thereafter, taxation at a low rate of 10% for the life of the company. Additionally, FDIs will receive FULL exemption on reinvested profits and income! These types of tax incentives provides an unmeasurable leveraging power to entrepreneurs and business owners alike. Investing in the Mediterraneans will allow for extreme business growth at a rapid pace, as international expansions are the way of the future.

So what’s available in what industry?

Information Communication Technologies (ICT) is a booming sector for Tunisia. It is one of the most dynamic sectors with one of the highest growth rates. This is attributed widely to the high levels of investments, nearly 3.9 billion dinars (3.3 billion U.S.). This growth can be correlated to a stronger infrastructure, especially telecommunications, involving active and motivated participation by private companies operating in this field. Tunisia has a large number of young graduates with skills and qualifications in various branches that meet the needs of businesses. In 2008 there were more than 9,500 graduates holding degrees in computer sciences and communications. The following opportunities are currently outsourced for ICT:

  • Marketing Research
  • Phone Sales
  • Technical Support
  • Remote Work
  • Data Processing
  • Software and Web Application Development
  • Application Outsourcing
  • Systems Integration
  • Consulting Assistance
Additional investing industries are as follows:

Electric and Electronics
  • Printed circuits, electronic cards
  • Connectors
  • Coils and Transformers
  • Capacitors & Resistors
  • Wire harnesses, wires and cables
  • Lighting apparatus
  • Engines
  • Switches
  • Cut-off Switches
Mechanical
  • Equipment for large projects
  • Bottled Gas
  • Laser cutting of thin sheet metal
  • Manufacture of mechanical parts smelted under pressure
  • Tooling of mechanical parts using digital control machinery
  • Manufacture and maintenance of molds
  • Household items and fixtures
  • Industrial faucets, parts for water distribution and hydraulic circuit connectors
  • Parts for construction/public works equipment or for industrial machines
  • Surface treatments
  • Thermal Equipment (radiators, evaporator condenser)
  • Motor Parts
  • Tires and mirrors
  • Exterior carriage work
Textiles
  • Fabric production for clothing plants
  • Modernization and upgrading of operating plants
  • Fashion Garments
  • Luxury Clothing
  • Women lingerie
  • Development of the fashion design platform
Leather
  • Leisure and fashion shoes
  • Shoe- Upper production
  • Work shoe production
  • Ladies leather hand-bags of medium and high quality
  • Baggage items
  • Small leather goods, of medium and high quality
  • Quality leather to answer the needs of onshore and off-shore companies.
